NEWS & EVENTS:

PHANTOM GALLERY ARTISTS WANTED for the Phantom Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in a temporary space, programmed by the Recreation & Parks Department. With community support and collaboration, the Phantom Gallery seeks to provide an exhibition space and retail gallery for local artists.

All America

The City of Santa Rosa won the prestigious All America City Award from the National Civic League in April, 2007 and we are proud to announce that the Arts District was one of three projects contributing to what makes our city a winner!

WHAT: Since the 1990s, the City of Santa Rosa has strived to build a thriving public art program. In recent years, these efforts have paid off with tremendous successes, including the creation of the Santa Rosa Arts District.

Downtown Santa Rosa is now a designated Arts District. The Community is encouraged to bring art and cultural events to the district, benefiting the area and the entire region.

The goal of the Arts District is to create a beautiful and inspiring destination that maximizes the public’s opportunities to experience art.

WHERE: The Arts District lies in the area bordered by College Avenue and Bennett Valley Road, and Brookwood Avenue and west of Railroad Square. Click here for a mapPDF.

With venues like Courthouse and Railroad Squares, Juilliard Park, Luther Burbank Home & Gardens, A Street Gallery and The Sonoma County Museum, a wide range of arts and cultural experiences will celebrate the full spectrum of arts media and expressions. The goal of the Arts District is to create a beautiful and inspiring destination that maximizes the public’s opportunities to experience art.

WHEN: New Arts District events are in the works as we speak! Check this site regularly for updated information on all of our happenings, as well as art and cultural events going on in the downtown. Check out the "Upcoming Events" list on the top right of this page.

You will find perodic listings of our “Happenings” in the City’s Adventure Guide, The North Bay Bohemian and The Press Democrat. This list is updated on a regular basis. To contribute, please email your downtown event info to vkumpfer@srcity.org.
